Part L Conservation of Fuel and Energy
U Value requirement
1. Pitch Roof - Sloping ceilings Insulation at rafter level U value 0.16 W/m²K
2. Cold Roof - Attic space Insulation at ceiling level U value 0.16 W/m²K
3. Flat Roof - U value 0.20 W/m²K
4. Dwarf Wall - Room in the roof Insulation fitted between timber studs U value 0.27 W/m²K
5. External Walls U value 0.21 W/m²K
6. Ground Floor Standard heating system U value 0.21 W/m²K
7. Ground Floor Under floor heating system U value 0.15 W/m²K
Your target should always be to achieve the lowest U Value possible. The lower the U value the slower the heat loss. The lower the U Value the cheaper the energy costs.
